Out Side blog 7/2/2009

I have been reading my novel Step On A Crack by James Patterson. It is about the President of the United States. His name is Stephen Hopkins, he and his wife of two and a half decades Caroline meet at Harvard University where they where both planning to be polisci majors. They graduated got married and had a beautiful daughter. For the past four years they gifted to each other a trip to New York for Christmas. Where they would have dinner at L'Arene, the most elegant and most seductive French restaurant in New York, followed by a horse and buggy ride through Central Park and bak to the Pierre's presidential suite. Caroline believed it got more romantic and exquisite every year. This year as they where dinning a gentlemen approached them and insisted for the President to sign his menu. "Mr. President can you make it out to my wife Carla, please". Fame, Caroline thought, placing her champagne glass down onto the immaculate linen. Ain't that a bitch. The pale man complimented the couple on how wonderful they looked that evening, especially the first lady Mrs. Hopkins. "Hope it was no bother," the man said has he was leaving. "Bother?" Stephan Hopkins said, grinning at his wife after the man had departed. "Now how could Carla's husband think that demolishing the most romantic moment of our lives was a bother? They were laughing when the waiter put down their plates, and vanished. Caroline smiled at the avant-grade architecture of her terrine of foie gras. It's almost too beautiful to eat, Caroline thought, lifting her knife and fork. Her first bite was so ethereal that it took a few seconds for her to place the taste. By then it was too late. What felt like high-pressure superheated air instantly inflated Caroline Hopkins's lungs, throat and face. "Oh my God, Caroline," she heard Stephan says as he looked at her in horror. I will let you guys know what happend.
