CULTURAL OPPORTUNITY #1
I attended The Shakespeare Festival on July 19TH in Bloomington. I have to say it was a new experience. My Sister Gricelda, Ashley and I where the first one's to get there. We thought we're at the wrong place. The whole scenery was beautiful, it reminded me of the movie Black Beauty with all the nice green grass and huge yard. That's not to mention the house that was there! It looked like a very old castle well taken care of. I wish we could of seen more of it! The picnic couldn't have been better, we had plenty of food. Deb's bbq sandwiches where the bomb diggity. Thank you everyone! The play it self was very interesting. At first I didn't understand it, I was getting very bored! Then my sister let me see her little pamphlet, I read what the play was about and then I was getting in to it. I was paying extra close attention of course do to the accents. Shakespeare's play are hard enough to understand with out the accents. I love all the different colorful costumes. The little fairies where so cute, what a courage of those little girls to be in front of a audience that big! Here I was having a panic attack for our poetry slam, and it was just our class plus three judges. Towards the end of the play I was getting really antsy, I usually go to bed around 9pm so it was past my bed time. It was also kind of chili out that night which made matters worse because I had my nice warm blanket. I really enjoyed my time at the festival. I am thinking about going again to watch one of the other plays by the end of the summer.

I'm glad you had a good time. I didn't get to go to that play. =( Shakespeare is very difficult to understand to me as well. The accents do make it more difficult. I bet the costumes were beautiful. Overall it sounds like most everybody enjoyed their time.
